Dr. Lea PughVeterinarian & Practice Owner
Dr. Lea Pugh has worked for Miami County Vet Clinic for over 20 years. In 2017, she purchased MCVC and is now the sole owner. She was born in Peru and raised on a farm in northern Miami Co. She is a graduate of North Miami High School and Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Lea lives in Miami Co. with her husband Steve and a menagerie of pets. She also has 2 daughters, Sadie and Ruth, that are pursuing their own new careers. She is actively involved with her church and serves on the Miami County Animal Control Board. In her free time, she reads, bikes and watches movies at the Roxy.

Marni, RVTLead Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager
Marni has worked as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at our clinic since 2014. She graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2013. She is originally from Fort Wayne, but now calls Peru her home. Marni lives with her son, David and 3 four legged children, 2 dogs named Sadie and Pepper and cat named Colby. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafts, Peru High School sports and being involved with our local animal shelters.

SavannahLead Receptionist
Savannah as been part of our team since 2021. She has been a veterinary receptionist since 2013. She has recently moved from Maryland to Peru to be closer to her family. She lives at home with her husband Jon and shepherd mix Bella. When not at work, Savannah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing board games and spending as much time as she can outdoors.

BeccaVeterinary Nurse
Becca has been working with us since September 2022 as a Veterinary Nurse. She was born and raised in Logansport, IN. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2021. Becca lives with her husband Luis and daughter, Sophia. When she was younger, she always knew she wanted to work with animals. She enjoys meeting clients and patients. Her favorite thing about working here is that each day is different, and she continues to learn and gain more experience. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching Netflix, and trying new foods.

AndreaReceptionist
Andrea is new to the clinic, starting in September 2022. She grew up in Indianapolis, but now lives in Peru. Andrea lives in Peru with her Fiancé Travis, soon to be stepdaughter Addisyn, and 5 dogs named Taz, Kratos, Stryker, Arlo, and Kia. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors with her dogs, camping, fishing, kayaking, hiking, riding 4 wheelers and off-roading.

Layla
Layla has been interning at MCVC since January, 2023. She has also joined our kennel staff before and after school. She has two ferrets Willow and Enzo. She is attending IUK starting this summer to receive her bachelors degree in biology with a focus in pre-veterinary medicine. Born and raised in Peru, Indiana, she is graduating from Peru Junior Senior High this year. In her free time, Layla enjoys playing video games and taking naps with her ferrets. She wants to have her own exotic animal veterinary practice and on the side do dentistry on zoo animals! Her favorite colors are pink and green. Layla loves to learn:)

WilburClinic Cat
Wilbur has been at Miami County Vet Clinic since 2014. His duties include keeping the dogs in line, making sure clinic staff is where they are needed, and an affection for dog leashes.

Birdie
Birdie joined our staff in 2022. She spends most of her day playing. She is very sweet girl, but like many cats she is reserved. She likes to be petted on her own terms.
