Dr.Lea PughVeterinarian & Practice Owner
Dr. Lea Pugh has worked for Miami County Vet Clinic for over 20 years. In 2017, she purchased MCVC and is now the sole owner. She was born in Peru and raised on a farm in northern Miami Co. She is a graduate of North Miami High School and Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Lea lives in Miami Co. with her husband Steve, their two daughters, Sadie and Ruth, and a menagerie of pets. She is actively involved with her church and serves on the Miami County Health Board. In her free time, she reads, bikes and watches movies at the Roxy.
Marni, RVTLead Veterinary Nurse & Inventory Manager
Marni has worked as a Registered Veterinary Nurse at our clinic since 2014. She graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2013. She is originally from Fort Wayne, but now calls Peru her home. Marni lives with her son, David and 3 four legged children, 2 dogs named Sadie and Pepper and cats named Colby. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafts, Peru High School sports and being involved with our local animal shelters.
Savannah is our newest addition to our team, starting in November 2021. Savannah has been a veterinary receptionist since 2013. She has just recently moved from Maryland to Peru to be closer to her family. She lives at home with her husband Jon and shepherd mix Bella. When not at work, Savannah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing board games and spending as much time as she can outdoors.
Ruth has been working at our clinic since August, 2015. Ruth is the mom to a son. They share their home with their dog, 5 cats, Jackson, Jynx, Tiffany, Cleopatra “Mama”, and Butterscotch “Baby”. She has an A.A.S. in human services. The skills she learned while getting her degree are used with the animals she works with. She truly enjoys working with all of the animals here at our clinic.
Rusty has been one of our kennel assistant's since 2020.
Nicole has been with us since early 2021 as a part time receptionist. More information to come.
Wilbur has been at Miami County Vet Clinic since 2014. His duties include keeping the dogs in line, making sure clinic staff is where they are needed, and an affection for dog leashes.
